Founded in 1997, Build-A-Bear allows children and adults to build a customized teddy bear in a retail atmosphere or online. Their mission is to add a little more heart to life. They have sold more than 160 million teddy bears.

Situation
How Can We Extend Playtime Through Interactive Experiences
Build-A-Bear Workshop is more than just a store where furry friends are chosen, stuffed, dressed and fluffed. It’s an experience: as families make a new friend together, imaginations run wild, childhood delights are (re)discovered, and lasting memories are made. To make sure that the magical experience doesn’t end when you leave the store, CVR has been extending imaginative play through mobile and digital.

Solution
CVR Brings Mobile iOS & Android Apps to the Table
We started with the “Merry Mission” app, which includes games, songs, and a retelling of the age-old story of Santa’s elves (who get by with a little help from their reindeer friends). In the first six weeks, “Merry Mission” had more than a quarter of a million active users, with the majority playing the games multiple times a day. The app will relaunch this holiday with new game play elements, songs, and other surprises.
CVR also helped Build-A-Bear put the music-focused Honey Girls on the main stage with the “Honey Girls Studio” app for iOS and Android. And we’re re-envisioning part of the Build-A-Bear website to showcase the ways that Build-A-Bear brings a little more heart to life.
