People for Urban Progress launches Amtrak Collection

CVR is all aboard and moving full steam ahead with one of our newest client projects! Earlier this month, we broke the national news that People for Urban Progress (PUP) has partnered with Amtrak to bring train lovers, commuters and adventurers alike a limited-edition line of luxury leather bags.  The bags, which include a backpack, tote bag and dopp kit, are made from 6,000+ leather seat coverings that once resided on Amtrak Acela Express train cars. They’ve traveled thousands of miles and overheard millions of conference calls (probably).

Over the next 10-12 months, approximately 2,500 bags will roll out in small-batch releases as the designers at PUP repurpose the seat coverings. Products are expected to launch by train set, with bags retailing between $75 to $750 dollars. One additional design is currently in the works and is slated to release early next year.

So, if you’re onboard and interested in reading more about PUP and their Amtrak collection, check out some of the recent coverage we secured for them below. #HumbleBrag

And that’s not all. CVR is continuing to pitch the news and partnership to national outlets, as well as to holiday gift-giving guides for additional exposure.

We are stoked about this partnership. The crew at PUP is creating a smarter, more sustainable and resilient world by combining good design with existing resources. Over the last few weeks, we’ve collaborated with the Amtrak team to create interesting and compelling content, attended a foam party where we literally ripped the foam from seat coverings and had engaging conversations about sustainability and reuse in our city and across the country.

PUP is truly a brand that matters, and we are honored to call them our clients and friends. To shop the collection now, visit www.peopleup.org/collections/amtrak.
