“For he had learned some of the things that every man must find out for himself…through error and through trial…through being mistaken, and wrong and an idiot and egotistical and aspiring and hopeful and believing…”
Or so Thomas Wolfe wrote in the classic, You Can’t Go Home Again.
In 2005 Jon Bon Jovi sang another point of view.
“Who says you can’t go back? Been all around the world and as a matter of fact, there’s only one place left I want to go. Who says you can’t go home?”
At CVR, we tend to agree with the band from New Jersey…that’s why more than half the staff is on our second tour of duty with CVR. The boomerangs, as we’re called, came back for one simple reason. It’s a great place to be (and of course, CVR would take us back).
But in all seriousness, coming back gives us a chance to bring outside perspectives to bear for our clients and the agency. Whether it’s time spent at a New York agency, on the client-side for a footwear retailer or spending time at home with kids, these diverse life experiences create a broader platform from which to create.
The added bonus is that we know what CVR stands for…and of course, CVR has an idea what we’re all about it. And that’s crucial in a business where subjectivity can overpower statistics and research. In the end, we’re here because we want to be…doing what we want to do.
You can see it in our work. You can see it in our attitude. You can see it in our people…and you’ll see it more than once.
