Sports Management During and After the COVID-19 Pandemic: How to prepare for the new future of sports
Over 100 people gathered – online and in safe, social distancing fashion of course – to hear Todd Taylor, Executive Vice President of Chief Sales and Marketing for Pacers Sports & Entertainment, Joe Ondrejko, Senior Vice President of Ticket Sales and Service for the Colts and Jordan Mirabile, Director of Administration and Culture for Indy Eleven answer these key questions:
- How did you break into the sports industry?
- What are the top two issues your organization is debating with respect to the COVID-19 Pandemic?
- How is the COVID-19 Pandemic affecting ticket sales and team culture?
- What positive outcomes have resulted from the COVID-19 Pandemic?
- What advice do you give aspiring sports career professionals?

The Zoominar was co-hosted by Sports Circle Indy (SCI) and CVR, combining SCI’s aim to share ideas and make connections along with CVR’s mission to Build Brands That Matter™. SCI and CVR purposely attracted University students and recent college graduates so that they could have an exclusive and FREE behind-the-scenes look at what steps Taylor, Ondrejko and Mirabile have taken to be successful.
In true sports fashion, the Zoominar included a prediction and contest. Attendees voted on which sport they believed would be the first to play a game, including fans in attendance. The NFL rose to the top with 24% percent, followed closely by the MLB with 20% of the vote.

Additionally, the contest included attendees posting a selfie using #SCIzoominar on their social media channels. After the Zoominar concluded, three winners were randomly selected, winning a prize package from the Colts, Pacers or Indy Eleven. The selfies and more can be viewed on Twitter at @SportsCircleInd.

Thank you to the three panelists for giving their time and insight. Next to the NFL Draft, this Zoominar has been the only “LIVE” sporting event in weeks!
