Giving Back

January 20, 2016

CVR is blessed to work with two of the Indianapolis community’s premier nonprofits: Gleaners Food Bank and the United Way of Central Indiana. Both organizations work extremely hard at helping those in need. And while the US economy seems to have shaken itself free from the Great Recession, so many Hoosiers, particularly in low-income communities, are still struggling to make ends meet. In fact, the 2015 Nonprofit Finance Fund survey of US-based nonprofits found that 76% reported an increased demand for services and 52% couldn’t meet the demand. Of those that reported they could not meet demand, 71% said that client needs simply - but harshly - go unmet.

While CVR staffers are rewarded daily by working with our nonprofit clients on communication initiatives, many of the most rewarding experiences come from our volunteer time, either as a company or individually. As you look out onto 2016, please consider volunteering some of your time as well. Your service will have a significant impact: you may work directly with people in need, or help free someone within the organization to deliver much-needed services. You can visit the Gleaners Food Bank website or the United Way's website to learn about volunteer opportunities, or reach out to a nonprofit of particular interest to you.

Thanks for your consideration.
