Last year, CVR had the privilege of rebranding the organization that operates the Indianapolis Monumental Marathon to what is now known as Beyond Monumental. In addition to the organization’s brand, our work also included the redesign of the organization’s event logos as a result of a new title sponsor (CNO Financial Indianapolis Monumental Marathon, the Indy Half Marathon and the Indianapolis Monumental Mile). We challenged our design team to develop a solution that was creative, bold and compelling – something that was “monumental.”

From the minute we started working on the project, our team hit the ground running! As we learned more about the organization, we learned how we could get involved beyond just being their creative team. So, we challenged our entire staff to become monumental.
That internal challenge led us to the Apex Monumental Challenge, an employer-based, team competition. By participating in their events as walkers, runners or volunteers, we could earn points and compete in the Apex Challenge. The winner would receive recognition, a traveling trophy for display, bragging rights and a free office lunch for participants. We were all in!
- 6 of us kicked off the challenge by running in the Monumental Mile
- 2 trained and participated in the Indy Half Marathon
- 2 trained and participated in the Indianapolis Monumental Full Marathon; 2 others volunteered for the event
- 13 trained and participated in the Indianapolis Monumental Half Marathon
Last week, CVR was recognized as the winner of the Apex Monumental Challenge (small business category). I couldn’t be more proud of our team for their creativity and commitment. I always knew the CVR team was monumental – now even more people do too!
