It’s funny how often Adam seems to be in the right place at the right time. But don’t be misled, it’s no coincidence. If you saw how Adam got to that place, you’d know how hard work, preparation and attention to detail can create what some people call luck. Maybe he is fortunate. Maybe his parents instilled a Midwestern work ethic, and he actually values the opinions of others. Maybe he grew up in a time where others wait for the game to come to them while he chases it down. We don’t really care. We’re just happy he’s on our side, making things happen for our clients. You will be too. And if you want, you can call it luck, but we all know better.
There are those who wait for things to happen and those who make things happen. Adam is not waiting around. He hits the ground running and keeps running. Whether it’s innovative ideas or just making sure the details get sweated, Adam wants it done right. And preferably right now. He’s not pushy, just driven. The old guys around here call it moxie. The older guys call it gumption. No matter what you call it, Adam’s abilities have taken him a long way about 30 miles north from his boyhood home, just south of the south side. We expect a lot more from “Kappy”… you can too.
At the tender age of two, Amy flew across the pond with her family to bring a little culture to the Midwest. Born in Manchester, UK, Amy has visited more countries than states in the Union. As a hip millennial, she has Snap Chatted more than she has written in cursive and that’s what we like about her. After interning here and graduating with a marketing degree from Butler University, Amy has brought her worldly approach to strategic communications back to CVR. A self-proclaimed “confectionary snob” and certified smart chick, Amy brings a bright enthusiasm and universal appeal to the social team.
Brandon has a different way of looking at things. Some call it a gift, but we just call it “perspective.” He analyzes every angle, capturing unique moments needed to tell the story. Don’t let his boyish charms fool you, Brandon draws from the wealth of amateur and professional filming experience he’s garnered during his time at Indiana University, his volunteer work with the Indy Indie Film Fest and shoots on projects for groups like the Conrad Hilton’s Long-Sharpe Gallery and UIndy. From Brandon’s perspective there is always a compelling, smart and beautiful way to tell the story – let him help you tell yours.
Brian is what we like to call a finisher. He’s one of those guys that gets buried in piles of work … and digs his way out. Impossible deadlines? He won’t lose any sleep. No budget? He’ll figure it out. Never been done? Never been done yet. Brian solves problems with hard work and elbow grease. Just like those guys back in the day. During his career, Brian’s been on the both sides of the business, design and production. He also likes different kinds of music, from bluegrass to rap.
Ask Cari what she does and she’ll say, “A little bit of everything.” Ask us what Cari does and we’ll say, “Makes a big difference.” Not only that, Cari makes what we do possible. From helping balance the books to making clients in the office feel welcome, Cari is always doing something that matters. But it’s not just what she does, it how she does it. For Cari, it all comes down to treating people the way you want to be treated. And even though that’s not a new idea, it works around here. Cari has recently taken up sailing and can often be found offshore with her husband on the family sailboat.
ESPN meets C-SPAN. Chris Watts is a sports fan and a policy wonk, comfortable running a 5K or helping a candidate run for office. He’s also an advocate who gets passionate about issues and ideas – good news if you’re his client.
Chris has spent much of his career in government and economic development, building relationships with opinion-makers in the corporate world, higher education and the public sector. He even spent a few years working at CVR, earning kudos from clients and a gaudy winning percentage in Nerf basketball. The Nerf hoop was lost in the agency’s move to Chase Tower, but Chris found his way back.
While Claire has only been with us a few weeks, her presence as an engaged, curious intern has been obvious around the agency. With roots in the not-so-far reaches of Danville, IN, Claire comes to us from University of Indianapolis, a school she has so much passion for that she works as a recruiter for their School of Business when she’s not studying or working with us. She chose marketing for her major because she believes that everyone and everything has, or needs, a brand – which is great because we think so too! She’s ready to learn, grow and market with the best of them. We couldn’t be more excited to have her on team CVR this summer.
Doug Lewis is a transplant from Normal, IL, which is interesting because there’s nothing normal about his work ethic. Dedicated to delivering the best service, done right, for his accounts and working just as diligently to support his team, Doug brings his expertise to CVR from St. Louis, where he worked on accounts like AT&T and Edward Jones – navigating the tricky waters of B2B and B2C marketing in a fast-paced environment. We talk a lot about boomerangs at CVR, and Doug is an Indianapolis boomerang. He and his wife went to Butler and are rabid Bulldog fans. An avid runner, hiking enthusiast and pet lover, Doug is driven to deliver by deadline, exceed expectations and pursue excellence in a manner that’s anything but normal.
People say you can’t come home again. Dustin is out to prove them wrong. After 15 years spent far south of I-70, Dustin returns to Indianapolis with an unmatched talent for helping brands navigate today’s complicated social spaces. His diverse background allows him to think holistically to create better content and deepen consumer engagement for clients. He’s been known to speak in 140 characters and is a self-proclaimed professional square shooter (that’s millennial speak for he takes a lot of Instagram photos).
If there’s a new way of communicating, Dustin is on it. And if there’s one thing he’s learned, it’s no longer just what you say, but where you say it. The second thing he’s learning is how to play the guitar. We’ll keep you posted.
To Eric, design isn’t just an art. It’s a recipe. Lucky for you, Eric knows exactly which ingredients to use and when. He knows that beautiful design is worthless without a clear message and strong strategy. Eric mixes the right combination of strategy and design to whip up something clean, engaging and impactful. Hats off to the chef. Eric’s appreciation for the right ingredients doesn’t stop when he leaves the office. We’ve heard he’s quite the chef and makes a mean fish taco. He’s also been known to appreciate the art of brewing. Mostly by trying any craft beer that comes his way.
While nothing is ever perfect, Erin does her best to get us close as possible. Erin cares. She cares about the user experience, the interface, the timeline, the budget, the strategy, the change orders and the best way to navigate the digital landscape from SEO to mobile apps to website redesigns. But what she cares about most is getting it right. She cut her teeth on brands like Dove, Mead and Sprint and that big-brand experience produces big-time results. From the sitemap to the punch list, Erin isn’t happy until the work is planned and the plan works.
Erin graduated from one of those Ivy League schools, so she’s smarter than us…but she doesn’t let on. And when she’s not making things better for online users, she’s making the world a little better as a foster parent.
If there’s a target audience you have in mind, Erin will make sure you market to them. Adding to the long list of proud Butler Bulldogs here at CVR, Erin majored in marketing, minored in French and aims to s’il vous plaît. She loves to travel, meaning she’s a woman of the people who has met plenty of them around the globe. When not perfectly placing media, she enjoys cooking, puzzles and continuing on her epic quest to find the best donut in the world – which we are all too happy to help her with. Born and raised in Aurora, IL, this Blackhawks and Cubs fan has found a kinship with many of the CVR sports fans. If you have a media puzzle that needs solving, Erin can help, because she’s the maestro with the most-o.
Data drives Jan, pure and simple. Whether she’s interviewing the sales force, sifting through readership data or uncovering what makes your customer tick, Jan sheds new light on the brand and the buying process. Jan has lent her expertise in media, research and online marketing to a broad spectrum of brands that range from professional basketball to pathology.

For Jared, another day at the office is never just another day – it’s TODAY. He’s been big city, small town and everywhere in between. From billfolds to topfolds to things that are too big to fold, if you want something that makes a statement, he can deliver. Rumor has it he once convinced a client to stick the back end of an old VW van onto their lobby wall and stick a TV in it. And they did! And it was cool! With humble origins from the Southside of Indianapolis to city slicking in the American south, Jared has returned home and brought his talents with him to CVR.
We don’t just rely on our clients for our emotional well-being and professional reinforcement. Julie takes care of taking care of us. Plus, she’s the one who gets all the resumes first. Which makes her very important to you.

No one can keep the office in order quite like Kara. A seasoned veteran at CVR, Kara has been keeping the billing straight for more than 30 years. She also makes sure the rest of the office stays up to date with time sheets and coordinates with vendors. Kara is that rare individual with both everyday professionalism and outstanding baking skills. For that we might be a little heavier, but we’re also a lot happier. On the weekends, Kara is a member of her church bell choir and enjoys spending time with her family.
Karen’s desk is where the rubber meets the road. She turns ideas into reality and concepts into executions. Somehow she brings it all together in a timely fashion, smartly balancing creative egos, client needs and the budget. Karen takes the “brutal” out of brutal deadlines and the “t” off the word can’t. From Beijing to Bloomington, she makes sure the work is done right…and ends up in the right place…and in the right language. Karen has been helping agencies produce outstanding work for more than 25 years, but some of her best work takes place on behalf of Special Olympics and Stephen Ministries.
Kathy’s career spans marketing, advertising, and brand development in both Chicago and Indianapolis, where she’s led creative teams and clients in producing effective integrated marketing campaigns and engaging content across all platforms – print, digital, email, social media, just to name a few. Kathy’s expertise ranges from QSR to retail, financial to building products, and she loves to jump head-first into projects that have hit a roadblock of some sort, bringing her strategic thinking and keen ability for removing obstacles to that project to keep things moving ahead, full steam. Kathy loves CVR so much that she’s called this place home on three separate occasions. When she’s not at her CVR home, though, you can find her chasing her two boys around, growing the most delicious tomatoes in all of Indiana, and collecting books and recruiting readers for her nonprofit for children, Another Chapter.
Stellar design drives Katie both in her work and her wardrobe. Katie brings her high energy spirit combined with many years of experience to work every day to create the fresh ideas you are looking for. When Katie isn’t at work, she is busy raising two children. Both at the office and at home she lives by the saying, give more and expect less.
Born and raised in Anderson, IN, Kelly (or Bo, as we call her) is a CVR success story. She came to us as an intern. After she graduated from Herron School of Art at IUPUI, CVR had to keep her on our team. As a painter and yoga enthusiast, Kelly thinks through every piece of work that passes her way. From social posts, to print pieces, to email layouts – Kelly adapts, adjusts and works with everyone to make sure her work is on brand, delivered on time, and of course, looks on point. When she’s not busy making cool stuff for CVR, Kelly can be found hiking, cooking or hanging out with her plethora of pets. She has two Burmese cats and one cute puppy, Pepper. She’s our kind of people.
Don’t call Kelly a “do gooder.” Call her a “do better.” That’s what she does. When nonprofit clients have lean budgets, short staffs and long wish lists, Kelly finds a way to get their message out. She loves the game and has found a niche in the nonprofit sector, creating messaging campaigns that change our world, not the bottom line. That’s special. And she’s our specialist. In her spare time (yeah, spare time) you can catch Kelly at the ball diamond watching her two kids participate in the local version of the national pastime.
Normally, there’s the agency side and then there’s the client side. With Kelsey, however, there are no sides—the client and the agency are on the same team. She provides seamless communication and constant support for her team. More importantly, she guides the team with smart, strategic thinking. And she smiles through it all.
When Kelsey isn’t at the office, you can find her painting. That’s right, she’s an artist, too. Even our non-creatives are creative.
Kevin helps clients achieve their goals by putting strong, smart teams on the case. And that includes himself. He’s not afraid to roll up his sleeves to uncover the truths to help a brand stand out. He derives this straightforward and fearless approach from his experience guiding strategy in retail, quick-serve restaurants and consumer packaged goods industries where he focused on e-commerce, direct marketing, corporate communications, loyalty marketing and cause marketing. Kevin has also worked both sides of the fence in marketing – as a client and as an agency guy, so he knows what clients expect from their agency. Matt believes creativity is not reserved for the creative department…ideas can come from anywhere. So Matt actually listens while working to create the best work possible. Due to his past history as an advertising director, Matt is one of those rare creatives who can actually understand why clients sometimes act the way they do…and has no problem stepping in as client contact when needed. Armed with a degree, 25 years in the industry/business and a glass-half-full mentality, Matt and his team will find a way. Guaranteed. Finally, Matt does not own any mock turtlenecks. He does, however, own plenty of 80s music.
Meg brings an open mind and a love of improv to CVR, her wit and quick thinking sharpened on stages in Bloomington and Chicago. That mind and her uncanny ability to recite obscure movie lines ensure that creative sessions stay fresh and headed in the right direction. Toss Meg an idea and let her run with it, and she’ll be sure to come back with copy that moves readers to action. When she’s not coming up with new ideas for age-old marketing problems, you can find Meg pitching for the CVR kickball team or taste-testing all the new beers from Indy’s craft brewery scene.
Paige fires on all cylinders, using every program, across all platforms to deliver the most hash-taggable, friend-sharable, viral content out there. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg on all Paige can do. Born and raised in Floyds Knobs, IN, Paige honed her skills at Indiana University and brought her talents to Indy. Saddle a horse? Snap incredible photos? Rock “cream and crimson” candy-stripped pants? Animate a whole lotta something out of a whole lotta nothing? Know more songs than Spotify? Hand-letter like a BOSS?? Yeah, Paige does all that and more. Feel free to act like you’re impressed because we sure are.

A craft that he’s turned into an award-winning career. Paul has written for everything from bourbon to automatic transmissions and has yet to miss a shift when the team stays late to brainstorm.
Paul’s ability to step back from an assignment and think about the entire landscape sets him apart from most writers. He can see the forest for the trees. And when he’s not blazing a trail for clients, you can find Paul hitting the trail as a Scout leader for Indy area Boy Scouts.
